- Acquisition accelerates ad tech JV’s plans to scale the business
- Gets 100 sales and ops staff, two new markets (Thailand and Philippines)
ADKNOWLEDGE Asia Pacific Pte Ltd said it has acquired Mumbai-headquartered Komli Media Inc’s South-East Asia organisation. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Adknowledge Asia is a venture between Axiata Digital Advertising – a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur-headquartered regional telco giant Axiata Group Bhd – and Adknowledge, an advertising technology company headquartered in the United States, with offices around the world.
The acquisition accelerates plans to scale the business and help brands and agencies drive more ROI (return on investment) from their campaigns, Adknowledge Asia said in a statement.

This purchase combines approximately 100 sales and operations professionals with Adknowledge Asia’s existing teams in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
It adds two new markets – Thailand and the Philippines – to Adknowledge Asia’s Asia Pacific footprint, which also includes India, Hong Kong and South Korea, the company said.
“There’s incredible upside and demand in the Asia Pacific region, and with this deal, we’re investing in additional ‘people power’ to meet it,” said Adknowledge Asia acting chief executive officer (CEO) Ben Legg.
“This creates one of the largest – if not the largest – ad tech companies in Asia, and brings in an enthusiastic, experienced team and their relationships from across the region,” he declared.
In the newly combined business, Krishna Krovi (formerly managing director of Adknowledge Asia); Damien Lavin (formerly South-East Asia and Australia/ New Zealand vice president at Komli); and Matt Sutton (formerly vice president of Social, Komli) will run the Asia Pacific sales and business operations.
“Komli South-East Asia’s team and its clients are in good hands,” Komli founder and CEO Amar Goel said.
“Adknowledge Asia has great underlying technology, global presence and seasoned leadership. I’m excited about what they will accomplish together,” he added.
Komli Media India and RevX and are not part of the acquisition by Adknowledge Asia.
At the heart of Adknowledge Asia is the proprietary AdParlor platform, an integrated service that delivers seamless ad placement on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram.
With it, clients can take what they learn from campaigns on one social media network and use it to improve targeting on others; no other ad tech company offers such insight for its customers, the company claimed.
