In charge of team delivering SAP technology and services to largest customers in SEA

Microsoft VP to take on SAP regional role SAP Asia Pacific Japan has appointed Michiel Verhoeven (pic) as vice president of Strategic Accounts for SAP South-East Asia.

Verhoeven will be responsible for leading a team to deliver the best of SAP’s technology innovations, services and capabilities to the largest customers in the region. Based in Singapore, he will report to Francois Lancon, president and managing director for SAP South-East Asia, the company said in a statement.

Verhoeven brings more than 20 years of industry experience in Asia Pacific, the United States and Europe.

He joins SAP from Microsoft, where he was vice president of Microsoft Services for Asia Pacific. In this role, he led a multi-year leadership and sales transformation that accelerated revenue growth, improved customer satisfaction and increased profitability, SAP said.

Verhoeven also served as general manager for Microsoft’s Communications Sector in Asia.

“Our success is defined by our customers’ success. Michiel’s (Verhoeven) appointment reflects our continued focus on driving customer centricity,” said Lancon.

“With his wealth of knowledge and experience, Michiel will act as a trusted advisor and build long-term relationships with our customers to help them leverage our innovations, achieve their business goals, and run better,” he added.

Prior to Microsoft, Verhoeven held several executive positions at webMethods Inc, a business integration software company. His last position at webMethods was vice president for South Asia, responsible for establishing and growing the company’s operations in the region, and developing its industry solutions sales capabilities in the communications and high tech industries.

In addition, he has also worked at Asia Net Media and held consulting positions at both Booz Allen & Hamilton and KPMG Consulting.
