GROUPON has announced the appointment of Malaysian entrepreneur Joel Neoh Eu-Jin (pic) as international vice president, Asia Pacific, to lead some of its largest markets in Asia including Japan and Korea.
Commenting on his appointment, Neoh said: “2013 is going to be a big year for Groupon and I’m very excited to be playing a bigger role in it. I’m honored to be taking on this responsibility and I look forward to the challenges that come with it.”
According to the group-buying network, Neoh’s appointment is a result of his work in Malaysia where he cemented Groupon’s market leadership in just two years since its founding. He will now be tasked with doing the same for Korea and Japan.
He will also continue his role as the chief executive officer of Groupon Malaysia alongside newly-appointed country general manager Rafiq Razali (previously head of Sales, Groupon Malaysia).
Neoh’s previous roles in Groupon include CEO of Groupon Taiwan and regional vice president and general manager of Southeast Asia and India.
