PROFESSIONAL job seekers can now find out exactly what they’re worth with the Salary Checker app, launched this week by recruitment consultancy Robert Walters.
“Finding out what you’re worth can be a minefield but our new Salary Checker app makes it easy. It will also show whether you could be earning more in other countries, cities and sectors, for example,” said Phil Jenkins, director of Digital Marketing at Robert Walters.
The app is designed for professional job seekers, allowing them to check their market rate in more than 20 countries. It draws on data from the firm’s Salary Survey that has been produced for over a decade and allows users to:
- Determine their own market rate;
- See how this compares with other sectors and cities/ countries and globally; and
- View salary trends over time.
“We wanted to provide job seekers with a key resource to help them in their job search. Are they being paid more than the rest of the market where they are? And when it comes to negotiating with a potential employer, what represents a fair offer?" Jenkins said.
"The app also provides a comprehensive and accurate overview for employers looking to benchmark pay against the rest of the market,” he added.
The app is an upgrade to the first version – launched in 2011 for the iPhone and iPad, and which received more than 200,000, downloads – and covers thousands of job types globally.
New features include easy-to-follow bar charts and graphs, salary comparison for several jobs at a time with users able to configure the data to their local currency.
The app is currently available for download via the Google Play Store and iTunes Store.
