3M Malaysia appoints Parameswaran Nair as managing director

3M Malaysia appoints Parameswaran Nair as managing director

 

3M HAS announced that Parameswaran Nair (pic above) has been appointed to the position of managing director for its Malaysian operations effective Nov 1 2016, making him the first Malaysian to lead the company.

Parameswaran succeeds Hideo Yamazaki, who led the company for more than two years and is now moving back to his native country as Automotive Electrification director of 3M Japan.

Prior to his appointment as managing director of 3M Malaysia, Parameswaran served as business development director, Health Care Business Group of 3M Asia Pacific.

“Malaysia remains as one of 3M’s key markets in the Asia Pacific region. The country’s stable market environment and government incentives toward advancement of research and innovation enables us to continue pursuing innovative excellence.

“I am proud to be the first local to helm the company, and look forward to collaborating with our business partners to make an impact to the local community through our products and solutions,” said Parameswaran.

Parameswaran joined 3M in 1992 and has held various key positions such as general manager for Industrial Business Group, business manager for Health Care Business Group, 3M Malaysia; APAC business development manager for Electrical Markets Division and Master Black Belt for Malaysia and Indonesia. He has also served as the managing director for 3M Vietnam for two years.
