Acronis rolls out new cloud backup solutions in Singapore

• Backup Service for businesses, Backup Cloud for service providers
• Says solutions also open new revenue streams for partners

ACRONIS has announced the availability of two new cloud backup solutions for the Singapore market.
 
Acronis Backup Cloud enables service providers to sell, manage and deliver high-value data protection capabilities that create new revenue streams without a large upfront investment, while Acronis Backup Service provides local and cloud backup services with bare metal recovery to any destination or system in the event of a disaster.
 
Acronis Backup Cloud is a multitier-multitenant solution providing local and hybrid storage of backed up data, local backup on customer premises, and local recovery plus recovery from the cloud, the company said in a statement.
 
The service provides advanced security, including SSL encryption of management channels and in-transit and at-rest AES256 data encryption. It also includes support for workstations, Windows, Linux, physical and virtual servers.
 
Underscoring the growing trend of distributors building their businesses by provisioning cloud services, existing and new partners can now deliver Acronis Backup Cloud to local customers, the company said in its statement.
 
“Opportunities abound for service providers, including backup, secure file access and sharing and disaster-recovery solutions,” said chief executive officer and cofounder Serguei Beloussov (pic).
 
“Acronis Backup Cloud gives them the ability to offer advanced data protection to their customers with an easily managed and monitored high-margin service that delivers security and scalability.”
 
Meanwhile, Acronis Backup Service solves key data protection challenges with a complete and easy-to-manage service that provides data backup from any source, and data recovery to any destination and system, the company claimed.
 
Powered by the Acronis AnyData Engine, the solution enables organisations to capture, store, recover, control and access data in virtual, physical, cloud, and mobile environments – using one centralised web-based management console.
 
Acronis Backup Service backs up physical and virtual servers and workstations to local storage or to Acronis’ secure data centres. It recovers individual files, hard disks as well as entire systems.
 
The easy-to-use web interface also reduces IT team workload so they can focus on the core business of the company, Acronis said.
 
Acronis Backup Service can be purchased directly from Acronis online or from its resellers and partners, with Acronis hosting and managing the services in an Acronis data centre.
