CelcomDigi Bhd (CelcomDigi) yesterday held the second edition of the CelcomDigi MY5G CEO Roundtable 2023, as part of a series aimed at accelerating 5G adoption across businesses and driving development and leadership among business leaders in Malaysia.                                                                                                   

The roundtable session, attended by the Minister of Communications and Digital of Malaysia, Fahmi Fadzil, covers actionable insights on how 5G-powered digital capabilities like IoT, AI and machine learning have enabled businesses around the globe to digitalise and transform for growth.

This second edition was held in collaboration with strategic leaders and global technology enablers, namely Axiata, Ericsson, Kearney and Microsoft.

CelcomDigi’s Chief Executive Officer, Idham Nawawi reiterated the company’s commitment in driving 5G thought leadership and adoption among businesses, as part of supporting the nation’s digital agenda.

“We are pleased to continue engaging the diverse industries and sectors through our MY5G Series. We believe this is the right step for an effective adoption and enablement of 5G in Malaysia as it requires strong collaboration between corporates, public sector, technology enablers, and connectivity providers.”

But more than adoption, Idham added that CelcomDigi believed that nurturing an enabling environment for the development of 5G policy, adoption, and applications will be crucial in boosting the 5G ecosystem in the country. “This is why we believe that beyond adoption, participation of enabling sectors like banking and property development, to name a few, will also be crucial in paving the way to unlocking benefits all consumers and businesses.”

Idham also added that CelcomDigi is ramping up its efforts in the coming months to better serve the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector including larger enterprises and corporate Malaysia. Some of the events that will take place include the third edition of the CEO Roundtable, a larger scale 5G business conference and tech showcase in Kuala Lumpur as well as a series of digital workshops for MSMEs across Malaysia.
