AmBank Group Inks MoU With APU To Develop Digital Talent

  • Partnership provides students with internship and career opportunities

AmBank Group, through its entities AmBank (M), AmBank Islamic, and AmInvestment Bank have signed an MoU with Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), to share knowledge and expertise, provide internship and career opportunities with the bank. 
 
The agreement was signed by AmBank Group’s COO Iswaraan Suppiah and APU Vice Chancellor Ho Chin Kuan. It was witnessed by AmBank head of Human Resource Business Partner and Organisation Design & Talent Management, Victoria Quake Ai Fang and APU Chief Innovation & Enterprise officer, Vinesh Thiruchelvam.
 
“We believe that this collaboration can help APU students achieve their full potential and connect them to a wider range of banking, financial, and technology solutions, particularly in the area of digital innovation, which can promote greater performance and sustainability,” said Iswaraan.
  
“This strategic partnership with AmBank will be a new step for us to develop our students in the banking, financial, and technology ecosystem sectors,” added Ho.

The internship experiences and career opportunities with AmBank are available to APU students from all schools and will be managed by APU Digital Career Centre (APUDCC), which connects with over 12,000 global talent partners.
 
Profiles of students pursuing internships at the bank will be provided to AmBank by APUDCC. Upon acceptance, students will work for the bank for a period to be determined later.
 
Additionally, AmBank agrees to collaborate with APU to provide opportunities for qualified graduates to be hired by the bank. In this regard, APU agrees to take steps to enable the bank to access qualified candidates from the APU student talent pool following the conditions laid out by the bank.The bank will have complete discretion in deciding whether to interview and choose applicants.

The bank has already shares the basic requirements for the internship and graduates programme with APU for the benifit of the university and its students. The terms of the internship are also set by AmBank.

The MoU will last for 5 years starting 22 March 2023.
