AUTODESK has appointed StarHub its new value added distributor (VAD) in Singapore – the first telco in South-East Asia the US company has appointed to distribute its software, effectvie Aug 1.
As a VAD, StarHub will sell Autodesk’s 3D design, engineering and entertainment software through its network of value added resellers (VARs), Autodesk said in a statement.
StarHub’s strengths in info-communications distribution will broaden the reach of Autodesk’s solutions, and help meet customer needs across multiple industries in Singapore, it declared.
“Trends around cloud computing, collaboration between distributed teams, and the proliferation of mobile devices are shaping the way our customers work and access Autodesk solutions,” said Autodesk Asean regional director Rama Tiwari.
“As a telco, StarHub understands this well, and there are strong synergies between our businesses,” he added.
Customers across manufacturing, architecture, building, construction, and media and entertainment – including the last 22 Academy Award winners for Best Visual Effects – use Autodesk software to design, visualise, and simulate their ideas before they are built or created.
“As we continue the growth momentum in our enterprise business, we also want to innovate around non-traditional telco business models to discover new areas of expansion,” said StarHub chief commercial officer Kevin Lim.
