Awantec awarded US$5.45mil contract from MOE to deliver Google Workspace to schools

• A renewal of previous 3-year deal to deliver G Suite Enterprise Software
• Will deliver cloud-based solutions – Google Workspace for Education & Google Cloud

In an announcement to Bursa Malaysia today, Awantec Technology Bhd said it has been awarded a US$5.45 million (RM25.68 million) contract to deliver Google Workspace for Education Plus for schools under the Ministry of Education (MOE).

According to Awantec, MOE issued the Letter of Award to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Awantec Systems Sdn Bhd (ASSB) on 1 July with ASSB accepting it today, 4th July. The formalization of the agreement is underway.

Awantec explained that the award is a renewal of the G Suite Enterprise Software For Education for schools under the MOE which ran from 8 July 2021 to 8th July 2024.

Under this award, ASSB will provide Cloud-based solutions, such as Google Workspace for Education and Google Cloud Platform to all schools under MOE for a period of 36 months, beginning 9th July to 8th July 2027.

Awantec expects the award of the contract to have a positive impact on future earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of the company.
