Blue Coat appoints new Asia Pacific VP

  • Security industry vet Andrew Littleproud to drive sales and operations
  • Previously at McAfee, where corporate business grew at double-digits

Blue Coat appoints new Asia Pacific VPENTERPRISE security specialist Blue Coat Systems Inc has appointed Andrew Littleproud (pic) vice president of Asia Pacific, responsible for its sales and business operations.
 
Reporting to Blue Coat senior vice president of worldwide field operations Marc Andrews, Littleproud will also focus on enhancing channel relationships, Blue Coat said in a statement.
 
Littleproud brings strong security industry experience and is tasked with extending Blue Coat’s Asia Pacific market penetration and leveraging the company’s position in the secure web gateway segment, to adjacent security markets.
 
During the last three years, Blue Coat has experienced strong growth in the enterprise security market, fuelled by its expanded offerings for advanced threat defence, it claimed.
 
“Andrew [Littleproud] has a proven track record of driving customer engagement and growing company revenue in the Asia Pacific region,” said Andrews.
 
“His knowledge and track record in the region is outstanding, and I’m looking forward to working with him to drive business efficiency and increase revenue,” he added.
 
Prior to joining Blue Coat, Littleproud worked for McAfee, where he was responsible for leading business operations across Asia Pacific.
 
Under his leadership, the McAfee corporate business in the Asia Pacific region grew at a double-digit rate, in excess of US$200 million, becoming McAfee’s highest performing region in 2014.
 
He had joined McAfee from EMC Corp, where he spent over seven years as managing director of the EMC Software Group, responsible for Australia and New Zealand.
