MALAYSIAN e-wallet Boost is re-enabling its e-Duit Raya feature, allowing users to send and receive duit raya from their family and friends remotely.
This forms part of their Raya campaign, themed “Raya dengan Tenang, Di Rumah kan Senang”, which includes rewards to ease Malaysians into the festivities during the ongoing movement control order (MCO), Boost said in a statement.
For a month starting May 10, Boost users will be able to send and receive e-duit raya from family and friends. This feature can be accessed directly from the app’s homepage and on the Raya feature page, where users can choose from six colourful envelopes or ‘sampul Raya’ designs and include a personalised Raya wish for the recipient.
Users can opt to send a fixed amount of e-Duit Raya to one recipient or any amount for up to 10 recipients at once. Boost has also added a randomiser will take a total amount you wish to send to multiple recipients, and randomly select the amount each recipient receives, it said.
Additionally, Boost is also extending an option to either keep or donate the e-Duit Raya received to the underprivileged. Users can choose from an extensive list of NGOs, charitable organisations and religious institutions around Malaysia.
“Malaysians have admirably embraced e-wallets as part of our daily lives now. Despite the continued restrictions on travel and Raya festivities, we hope that our e-duit Raya feature and Raya campaign offers will reignite the Raya spark,” said Mohd Khairil Abdullah, chief executive officer of Boost.
“As we continue to stride forward with tenacity, Boost is committed to continue introducing meaningful and innovative features and solutions. This is to help drive a vibrant and collaborative digital ecosystem that is beneficial to all Malaysians in adjusting to the now normal, while continuing to stay safe.”
Only Boost’s premium wallet users will be able to send money, while Basic Wallet users can only receive e-Duit Raya. Users can upgrade their wallets to premium status by verifying their identification details and adding money to Boost Wallet with a minimum of US$2.43 (RM10) at least once.

In conjunction with the Raya celebrations, Boost is having its ‘Online Boost Day – Duit Raya Kaw Kaw!’ campaign from May 8 to May 14. For a minimum spend of RM88 with participating online partners, users will receive RM8 in cashback with only 3,000 cashbacks given a day.
Online partners include Taobao, Lazada, CJ WOW, Go Shop, Sen Q Zalora, Decathlon, Christy Ng, DoubleWoot, JD Sports, Watson’s Online, Mary Kay, Nu Skin, L’Occitane, Hermo, McDelivery, Sabah Pay, Morefun and more.
As an added bonus, Boost is rewarding all first-time users with a new welcome pack. When a new user tops-up at least RM20 through online banking, Boost will reward users with RM20 to spend.
