CA TECHNOLOGIES announced the appointment of Gene Ng (pic) as vice president, Security, Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

Based in Singapore, Ng will drive CA’s Security business in APJ to help customers make security a competitive advantage. Ng and his team will work with customers to ensure that they are resourced and well-prepared to address today’s increasingly sophisticated and damaging cyber-security threats.

Ng brings close to two decades of security industry experience and a strong track record in building security software businesses in APJ.

Prior to joining CA, Ng served as the regional leader and business unit executive for the Asean region at IBM Security. He has also held senior leadership positions at Blue Coat, Motorola Solutions and 3Com.

Ng started his career with Price Waterhouse. Thereafter, he founded a business focused on security product distribution, services and training that became one of the top Security Value Added Distributors in the region.

“I am delighted to have someone of Gene’s calibre on board to lead our APJ Security business,” said Martin Mackay, president and general manager, APJ, CA Technologies.

“Gene is a seasoned executive in the security industry and has led high-performing and high growth organisations. He is joining us at a very exciting time where his extensive experience and expertise, coupled with our industry leading solutions, will help serve our customers’ growing security needs while enabling and protecting their organisations.”

“Cyber-security threats are effectively omnipresent in today’s digital landscape, and enterprises need to embed security in the DNA of their software development to drive better business outcomes,” said Ng.

“I am excited to be joining CA Technologies, and I look forward to further strengthening CA’s security leadership in the market and helping organisations deliver secure and seamless customer experiences.”

Ng holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
