CloudFX and MDeC join hands to launch MalaysiaOneCloud
Bright days for the cloud (l-r): MDeC Infotech VP Norhizam Abdul Kadir, Digital Enablement director Wan Murdani Mohamad and COO Ng Wan Peng; with CloudFX chairman Brendan Crotty and CloudFX Asia VP Nicholas Yap and Malaysia sales director Paul Fong.

THE CloudFX Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysia’s national ICT custodian Multimedia Development Corp (MDeC) to establish the MalaysiaOneCloud platform.

This would help independent software vendors (ISVs) in migrating to the cloud, and also help create a strong cloud ecosystem with Malaysia ISVs and data centre providers, the two parties said in a statement.

MalaysiaOneCloud will include local and global cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings.

This collaboration will aggregate cloud computing offerings from all ISVs and existing technology partners into a unified brokerage platform and cloud marketplace, and also provide regional and global cloud marketplace presence for ISVs, they said.

“Under the MSC Malaysia Cloud Initiative, MDeC works and collaborates with strategic industry partners to enable and drive the cloud computing ecosystem,” said MDeC chief operating officer Ng Wang Peng.

“… This collaboration with CloudFX will drive better adoption, integration and accelerate market growth of cloud SaaS solutions from local providers,” she added.

The MalaysiaOneCloud will initially offer over 50 fully automated cloud services and then scale to more than 300 service offerings within the first 12 months, enabling customers to consume ‘Anything-as-a-Service, CloudFX said in the statement.

This includes underlying IT infrastructure, application development platforms, and fully configured Malaysian business software applications.

The CloudSelect platform will be built, operated and managed by CloudFX, will also provide value-added services based on compliance, configuration, performance monitoring, capacity management, security and availability, full stack provisioning, and change management to ensure the most demanding Malaysian enterprise ICT and cloud services requirements are met, the company said.

The MalaysiaOneCloud cloud service marketplace will ensure low integration cost and easy on-boarding for local ISVs. CloudSelect is CloudFX’s platform of cloud solutions.

It will also provide a revenue share model to reduce cloud service on-boarding barriers. Businesses in Malaysia and abroad will enjoy a pay-per-use utility model for many cloud services through the MalaysiaOneCloud marketplace.

“We’ve built CloudSelect from the ground up to meet the needs of both enterprise cloud customers and cloud service providers (CSPs), enabling them to successfully accelerate cloud adoption and transformation, as well as to differentiate and deliver value-added services,” said CloudFX Group founder and chief executive officer Damian Crotty.

“Featuring integrated cloud services automated and services management capabilities, our cloud procurement and management solution is already helping many enterprises and CSPs around the globe achieve success with their cloud offerings,” he claimed.
