DIMSUM, a subscription-video-on-demand service and Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), on Dec 19 announced that unifi customers can enjoy 90 days of complimentary premium access when they subscribe to dimsum.

Subsequently, they will enjoy dimsum’s premium access for up to five devices with a discounted monthly subscription rate of RM10.

The promotion is also extended to Streamyx’s 4Mbps and 8Mbps customers. This is an exclusive offer to unifi customers, as normal customers will enjoy a 30-day free trial with a monthly subscription fee of RM13.90 subsequently.

To take up the offer, new users are required to connect their devices to their home unifi or Streamyx network and sign up for a new dimsum account via the dimsum app or any web browser.

Upon registering, they will need to opt-in for auto-recurring payments through their TM bill and this will automatically entitle them to the 90-day free trial.

With TM’s wide reach and dimsum’s extensive library of Asian content, the offer allows existing TM customers to enjoy a greater variety of Asian entertainment. New dimsum customers can enjoy a further discount on their monthly membership by becoming TM customers.

“The extraordinary response to dimsum since our initial partnership with TM shows the popularity of our Asian content among subscribers with a 100% uplift in subscribers’ video consumption in just two weeks since we launched the partnership.

“In addition to our simulcast content from Singapore, Taiwan and Japan for Asian content lovers, we believe that fans wouldn’t want to miss their chance to enjoy the simulcast of popular Thai dramas such as The Battle of Star and Devil Angel as well as the simulcast of China drama, The King of Blaze,” said dimsum chief marketing officer Lam Swee Kim.

“This special offer allows us to connect with TM customers nationwide and enable them to try dimsum and our full HD service,” she added.

“This collaboration delivers our commitment in boosting our customers’ experience not just on connectivity, but in enjoying even more content. Now, our customers are spoiled with an unbeatable choice of Asian entertainment from dimsum on any device, true to our brand promise of ‘Life Made Easier’,” said Emily Wee, vice president of Business & Media Operations, unifi TV, unifi.

Currently dimsum has six branded content partners from Asia, namely, GMM Grammy, Ani-One, Oh!K, Miao Mi, Asia Travel and Life Inspired. Upon signing up, subscribers can watch any content in HD with multi-language subtitles on multiple devices concurrently, including PCs, smartphones, tablets and Smart TVs.

The monthly subscription for dimsum is RM13.90 and it is currently available in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore (introductory price of S$4.90).
