Emerson Network appoints new VP for South-East Asia sales

EMERSON Network Power has announced the appointment of Paul Churchill (pic above) as vice president, South-East Asia sales, where he will oversee strategic initiatives to support enterprises in the region in optimising their critical infrastructure amid evolving technologies.

In his role, Churchill will work closely with the Emerson teams in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines and the Indochina region (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar), the company said in a statement.

He will work to bring Emerson’s solutions and services portfolio to customers in the data centre, telecom and industrial spaces, and will also work hand-in-hand with the channel business, it added.

Emerson Network Power provides critical infrastructure for information and communications technology systems.

Churchill’s appointment comes at a time when new technology trends are emerging in the region, the company said.

For example, IDC estimates that implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Asia, excluding Japan, will grow to 8.6 billion devices by 2020, reaching an annual market of US$583 billion.

South-East Asia is poised to drive the rise of the IoT in the region, as countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia have started IoT roadmaps.

With new technology trends come a new set of challenges for the IT, telco and industrial infrastructure. Enterprises today are looking for infrastructure that is scalable, flexible and efficient, to meet growing demands.

Emerson Network Power said its solutions and services are well-positioned to support IoT implementation in the region.

“Growth comes with its own set of growing pains, and for IoT projects to succeed, enterprises need a partner which can bridge their business goals with the right IT solutions to support,” said Churchill.

He first joined Emerson Network Power in 2004, as the head of service for the Australia market. In 2007, he transferred to Manila to serve as director of the overall Asia Pacific service business, where he established a regional service organisation and led the rapid growth of the service business in Asia and India.

In 2010, he assumed the position of vice president, service and project management, and in 2013 was promoted to vice president of global project management for the global service organisation in the United States.

“Paul’s [Churchill] appointment comes at a pivotal time of change and growth,” said Anand Sanghi, president of Emerson Network Power in Asia.

“His leadership, vision and expertise, coupled with his unparalleled dedication to customer service, is exactly what we need to accelerate execution of our business plans and capitalise on market opportunities ahead,” he added.

Meanwhile, Gene Hayden, vice president and general manager of sales and marketing for Emerson Network Power in Asia, has been named vice president of global strategic accounts and will relocate to the United States.
