WEBHOSTING and e-commerce solutions provider Exabytes Network Sdn Bhd said it has entered into a partnership with Japan’s GMO Payment Gateway Inc (GMO-PG).
The partnership would service Japanese e-commerce small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which are using Exabytes’ EasyStore all-in-one e-commerce solution, it said in a statement.
“EasyStore is an all-in-one solution to help SMEs easily set up an online store,” said Exabytes founder and chief executive officer Chan Kee Siak (pic above).
“SMEs are able to easily design, manage and automate a lot of business processes that are needed to run an online store. We currently have more than 15,000 online stores that are successfully operating using the solution,” he claimed.
Chan said the e-commerce market in South-East Asia is expected to grow at an annual average rate of 37.6% from 2013 to 2018, making it an attractive sector for Japanese merchants.
With the GMO-PG partnership, those using EasyStore can offer their customers secure online credit card transactions, he added.
GMO-PG has established its Malaysian arm GMO Payment Gateway Malaysia Sdn Bhd, as part of its plan to provide payment gateway services in South-East Asia. GMO-PG services are available in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and now Malaysia.
Citing a UBS 2014 report, Exabytes said Malaysia has a 20% share of the US$9-billion e-commerce market in South-East Asia, making it a strategic target for Japanese e-commerce players.
The company said EasyStore helps SMEs set up an online store at a dedicated website that also provides marketplace capabilities such as a website builder, shopping cart, automated shipping calculator, product management, multiple channel selling, mobile store and social network management, search engine optimisation, traffic analytics, sales reporting, webhosting with unlimited bandwidth, and more.
