Faiz Azmi appointed new SC Malaysia chairman as Awang Adek Hussin retires

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has announced that Awang Adek Hussin will retire as its chairman, with effect from 15 June 2024. He will be succeeded by Mohammad Faiz Azmi (main pic), former Executive Chairman of PwC Malaysia, who will assume the role on 16 June 2024.
Mohammad Faiz is currently an SC board member, a role he took up since 15 August 2023. Awang Adek (pic) thanked the Government including the Ministry of Finance, the capital market industry and various stakeholders for the support extended to him during his two-year tenure, expressing the hope that the same support be extended to Mohammad Faiz.
The SC Board expressed its gratitude to Awang Adek for his invaluable contribution to the development of the Malaysian capital market.
