Galasys in partnership with Indonesia’s Telkomsigma

GALASYS Plc, which provides integrated amusement park solutions and services, said it has signed a strategic collaboration with PT Sigma Caraka (Telkomsigma).

Under the agreement, Telkomsigma would use Galasys’ Intelligent Tourism platform to help boost the Indonesian in-bound tourism industry.

The Intelligent Tourism Platform is based on Galasys (Cloud Online Travel Agents) technology that connects online travel agents (OTAs) to tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, shopping and entertainment centres.

Tourists can pick a package that suits their travel needs on the platform too, Galasys said in a statement.

According to Telkomsigma president director Judi Achmadi, the company aims to transform the platform into an online hub for international tourists to Indonesia.

“We chose Galasys as it has a proven record in the intelligent tourism and hospitality solutions industry,” he said.

“Its solutions are being used by top tourist attractions in the region and its partnership with various OTAs in China provides us a ready audience to market Indonesian tourist attractions and tourism-related products,” he added.

Galasys’ Intelligent Tourism platform is slated to be launched commercially by July, the company said.

As part of the collaboration, Galasys will also provide analytics, e-ticketing and point-of-sales solutions to Indonesian businesses via the Intelligent Tourism platform, which will include Chinese and English translations.

“The Intelligent Tourism platform will connect the Indonesian travel industry to over 500 million registered tourists in China who would be keen to visit the country,” said Galasys chief executive officer Sean Seah.

According to the Indonesian Tourism Ministry, 1.3 million tourists from China travelled to Indonesia in 2015. This year the ministry is targeting to attract 2.1 million visitors from China, and is aiming for 12 million foreign tourist arrivals overall.
