- 40mil native speakers in the region
GOOGLE Inc has announced that AdSense, its online solution for publishers to earn money from advertisements, now officially supports Malay.
In a statement, Google said that that Malay is one the fastest growing languages on the Web.
For the majority of Malaysians – around 60% of the population, the Malay language is their primary language. In the region, there are approximately 40 million native speakers of the Malay language and worldwide over 220 million speak it, the company added.
AdSense displays targeted ads next to online content. With it, publishers can show relevant and engaging ads to their site visitors and even customise the look and feel of ads to match their website, Google said.
By adding Malay to the family of AdSense supported languages, Google said it hopes to support publishers in creating even more great quality web content in Malay, and connect advertisers to a rapidly growing online audience.
