HP unveils its fastest large-format colour/ monochrome printer in Malaysia

• HP PageWide XL 8000 does the job of two printers in a single device
• Also introduces new HP SmartStream software to optimise workflow

HEWLETT-Packard has introduced the HP PageWide XL 8000, which it claimed offers the fastest large-format production printing available in colour and black-and-white.
 
HP also introduced new HP SmartStream software to optimise workflow and new large-format supplies and printing materials, including HP PageWide Pigment Inks, HP Universal Bond Paper, and HP Production Matte, Gloss and Satin Poster Papers.

The HP PageWide XL 8000 does the job of two printers in a single device, providing monochrome and colour prints at speeds up to 60% faster than the fastest monochrome light-emitting diode (LED) printer, the company said in a statement.
  
The new printer will enable high-volume reprographic houses and enterprise central reprographic departments to produce computer-aided design (CAD) drawings and will open new business opportunities with geographic information system (GIS) maps, point-of-sale applications and posters, HP claimed.
  
The printer offers high-end production printing at speeds of up to 30 D/A1-size prints per minute as well as two 775 millilitre ink cartridges per color with automatic switching and up to six rolls – more than 1,200 meters – of media for sustained productivity.
 
“Our large-format printing customers are continually exploring ways to improve productivity, streamline workflow and reduce costs,” said Lee Kok Wai (pic), country business manager, HP Designjet Large Format Printer, HP.
 
“The HP PageWide XL 8000 Printer announced today will revolutionise the production printing market, offering affordable, high-quality black-and-white and colour output in a single device in half the time it usually takes on multiple printers,” he added.
 
HP PageWide XL Printers are the first products introduced under the new HP PageWide sub-brand. Based on HP PageWide Technology, which currently powers HP Inkjet Web Presses, HP business printers and will be scaled for upcoming HP 3D Multi Jet Fusion printers.

The HP PageWide XL 8000 will be available in September 2015 and sold by two authorised resellers: Compedo Media Supplies & Repair Sdn Bhd (central and southern region only) and Koniway Sdn Bhd (northern region only).
