SHENZEN-based ICT solutions provider Huawei Technologies Co Ltd has announced the availability of its Smart City solution in Malaysia.
The solution offers end-to-end security with ubiquitous network access, a convergent command centre, video surveillance cloud, and mobile policing, the company said in a statement.
It provides comprehensive on-site information with visual command, cross-regional resource sharing, and intelligent analysis functions for 360-degree security protection, it added.
“Cities today need effective public safety solutions for incident prevention, emergency response, and evidence collection,” said Huawei Malaysia chief executive officer Abraham Liu.
“Malaysia … has vast potential to leverage technology for public services and the safety of its citizens. Today’s launch is a first among many pillars of our commitment to bring world-class connectivity and technology to empower Malaysians,” he said at the opening ceremony of the second Huawei ICT Roadshow.
The two-day roadshow saw Huawei showcasing its solutions and technologies, and also served as a platform for industry experts to exchange ideas, the company said.
The launch was officiated by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek, who in his keynote said that Malaysia wanted to transform into a ‘smart country.’
“We want to use today’s platform to get the ecosystem to start thinking about the way ahead in using technology for a ‘Smart Malaysia,’ with the end goal of complementing and enabling all other nation-building initiatives,” he said.
