iCar Asia taps into growing New Car market

iCar Asia taps into growing New Car market

 

SOUTHEAST Asia’s automotive New Car market grew by 6% in 2018, driven by Thailand (+20%), Indonesia (+7%) and Malaysia (+4%) resulting in 2.8 million New Cars sold.

iCar Asia, an Asean network of automotive portals, has been testing various solutions for this growing New Car market and has now launched a Lead Market Place (LMP) into each of these markets with a solution that will satisfy New Car sales agents, New Car dealerships and consumers.

Based on a consumer experience oriented model, when a consumer inquires about a particular car, their details are forwarded automatically to multiple sales agents. It is then up to the sales agents to contact the potential customer as quickly as possible. Within the LMP there is also the opportunity to nurture those potential customers. The platform can be easily plugged into existing CRM tool the OEM brands’ are using.

New Car sales agents need to pre-purchase packages of iCar Coins in order to receive these new customers automatically. For a set price per customer contact, which is based on the urgency of wanting a new car, the sales agent can sit back and wait for potential sales to come to them. They can use online payment to top up their accounts and get full access to reports, customer details and other relevant data.

“The Lead Market Place is a product that brings efficiency and a competitive edge for sales agents who are selling new cars. We’ve worked in conjunction with the sales agents to train them and to fine-tune the process, from purchasing the iCar Coins to being able to nurture potential new customers. We’re really excited on how LMP has been received by the market and have big plans to improve the New Car sales agents business,” said Hamish Stone (pic), CEO of iCar Asia Limited.

Throughout these three largest car markets, over 700 sales agents have signed up and are using the product. Their feedback has been very positive and they are working closely with iCar Asia giving thoughts and opinions on market conditions.

iCar Asia have been developing this new product throughout 2019 and it is now fully launched and operational in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, with some customisation for each that caters to the slightly different market operations.
