- Says can now play more active role in providing insights
MARKET research and analyst firm International Data Corporation (IDC) said its Malaysian subsidiary was recently awarded Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC Malaysia) status by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).
This status now makes IDC Malaysia eligible for a range of incentives, including at least a five-year tax break.
MSC Malaysia is a project to develop the ICT industry in the country, and is overseen by MDeC, the national ICT custodian.
“For years we’ve been working closely with Malaysia’s government agencies providing strategic insights to help businesses achieve key business objectives, and we are immensely proud to receive the prestigious MSC status,” said IDC Malaysia country manager Vijay Sundararaman (pic above).
“This allows us to further strengthen IDC offerings to our clients, and we are committed to play a role in enabling the continued growth of the ICT industry in Malaysia,” he added.
MSC Malaysia status is awarded to both local and foreign companies which develop or use ICT to produce or enhance their products and services as well as for process development, IDC Malaysia noted in a statement.
“Malaysia is one of the most business-friendly countries in the world today, [and] this allow us to play a more active role in providing our strategic insights into the local ICT industry,” said IDC Asean managing director Jim Sailor (pic).
“We hope that it will propel us to greater heights in making Malaysia a force to be reckoned with in the global IT community and ICT hub,” he added.
