Former chairman resigns after 15-year tenure
New chairman looks forward to profitable growth

THE board of IRIS Corporation Bhd (IRIS), a leader in Trusted Identification, announces that Razali Ismail, chairman of IRIS has resigned to focus on his personal undertakings. The board also wishes to IRIS appoints Nik Azman Mohd Zain as new chairman announce the appointment and re-designation of Nik Azman Mohd Zain (pix) as Chairman of IRIS effective today.

Razali, a former diplomat, has given IRIS the benefit of his extensive and invaluable experience. The board wishes to record its appreciation to Razali for his significant contribution to IRIS’ growth during his tenure as the chairman since 2002.

Razali has been instrumental in providing guidance on managing international government relations. His visionary leadership and commitment to sustainability have been the hallmarks of his chairmanship and the board wishes him the very best in all his future undertakings.

In his chairman’s statement in IRIS annual report, Razali expressed his optimism about the future of IRIS. “Although it has been a very challenging year for IRIS, I remain extremely positive and confident about the future of our company,” he said.

“Strong foundations have been laid since we implemented our corporate restructuring plan and I believe that we have focused on the right priorities as we continue to strengthen our competencies to take the group forward and face the challenges ahead.”

“I accept the appointment and look forward to working with my other members of the board and management team to remain focused and on track with our Corporate Restructuring Plan. We will work hard to enhance our delivery capability, to deliver profitable growth and enhance corporate governance for IRIS,” said Nik.

Nik was appointed to the board on June 4, 2015 and is also currently chairman of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi Malaysia and an independent director in Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FIC).
