IRIS appoints Shaiful Subhan as new Group CEO

THE Board of IRIS Corporation Bhd (IRIS), a world leader in Trusted Identification, has announced the appointment of Shaiful Subhan as the new Group CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of IRIS effective today.
In a press release, the company describes Shaiful as an accomplished leader with great operational expertise and customer insights across multiple industries. Shaiful was previously the COO of Malaysia Organising Committee (MASOC) under the Ministry of Youth & Sports to oversee all organisational aspects of the 29th SEA Games and 9th ASEAN Para Games hosted in Kuala Lumpur. He was on a one-year secondment from MEASAT Broadcast Network Systems Sdn Bhd (Astro). At Astro, he was the Vice President, Customer Division where he led a number of key business units for their TV operations. Before joining Astro, Shaiful had stints with Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, Privasia Technology Bhd and United Engineers (M) Bhd Group.
Shaiful holds a Bachelor of Accounting from Birmingham University, UK and a MBA from the University of New England, Australia. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK.

Choong Choo Hock, the current acting CEO, will assume a new role as CEO of IRIS Trusted Identification and Information Technology Division commencing 16 October 2017.
The Board also announced the resignation of Tan Say Jim as a member of the company’s board with effect from 16 October 2017, in conjuction with his mandatory retirement as Managing Director/Chief Executive Director at the age 60.
