Japan’s Works Applications launches AI Works ERP solution in Singapore

TOKYO-based Works Applications has announced the launch of its AI Works enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution in Singapore.

In a statement, the company said the solution embeds artificial intelligence (AI) into key business processes such as human resource management, recruiting, and finance.

“AI Works integrates information from email, spreadsheets, calendars, and other enterprise tools via the cloud so users can collaborate on documents,” said Works Applications chief executive officer Masayuki Makino.

“As Singaporean companies look to improve productivity and invest in automation … we believe AI Works offers the significant savings in time and resources that will drive the Singapore economy forward,” he added.

AI Works predicts data being entered into the system, and also automatically pulls numbers from receipts and other documents, streamlining and making the time-consuming data entry process more efficient, the company claimed.

Founded in 1996, Works Applications customers consist of more than 1,100 of the largest Japanese organisations from all major industries, it added.

These include Sapporo Brewery, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings, Capcom, and Osaka University.

Works Applications employs nearly 5,000 people worldwide, with offices in Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore, New York, Los Angeles and Chennai.

“Since 2012, we have demonstrated our commitment to expansion in the Asia region by investing more than US$783 million,” said Makino.

“Our operation in Singapore has grown to over 190 employees within a short amount of time,” he added.
