LENOVO Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) – formerly known as Lenovo Data Center Group (DCG) – has announced the appointment of Wai-Chung Ngai (pic) as its cloud solution provider (CSP) and hyperscale leader at Lenovo ISG, Asia Pacific.
Ngai is a veteran of the industry with more than 25 years’ experience under his belt, joining ISG after 15 years at Dell Technologies where he served in a number of senior leadership roles, Lenovo said in a statement.
Most recently, as senior director of Dell’s extreme scale infrastructure Asia Pacific Japan, he was tasked with nurturing local talent and acquiring CSP & Hyperscale customers across Asia Pacific.
Ngai is also credited with helping to evolve the business model, creating new services and products to diversify revenue streams, the company said.
“At Lenovo, we have always been about customer choice - which is why our portfolio has expanded over the years to provide an end-to-end solutions stack, from the pocket to the data center and the cloud,” said Sumir Bhatia, president at Lenovo ISG, Asia Pacific.
“[Ngai] Wai-Chung’s appointment is a statement of our commitment to ensuring we continue to deliver on that promise and offer customers the ultimate freedom and flexibility. His experience will be invaluable as we embark on a new chapter at Lenovo ISG. We warmly welcome him to the team and look forward to greater success together.”
Based in Singapore, Ngai will report to Sumir Bhatia as part of the AP leadership team. In his new role, Ngai will work closely with Lenovo’s global CSP & hyperscale team to drive the portfolio across the region.
“As data exponentially grows, infrastructure solutions are constantly evolving - and the pandemic last year has only accelerated this rapid transformation. I am thrilled to be joining an industry leader like Lenovo ISG at such an exciting time in its own evolution, and helping them unlock new opportunities within the CSP and hyperscale space,” said Ngai.
