Property developer Mah Sing Group Bhd is partnering with SofaX, an interior design visualisation app to bring homeowners an elevated home designing experience with SofaX’s virtual reality (VR) technology.

Ho Hon Sang, Mah Sing’s Group Chief Executive Officer said, “We are always looking for new ways of using technology to support Malaysians in creating their dream homes. Our MY Mah Sing app has always been there at every step for our homeowners. Now, the SofaX platform is enhancing the app even further, by converting 2D house plans into a VR space where homeowners can fully immerse themselves and experiment with mixing and matching furniture, fittings, wall and tile colours,” he said.

“This is the only technology platform in Malaysia which allows homeowners to virtually explore furniture and fittings from brands in town, making it easier for homeowners to bring their dream homes to life,” he added.

The collaboration between Mah Sing and SofaX hinges upon the usage of mobile applications. Both parties are catering to consumers by creating app based solutions that are accessible from anywhere. The integration of SofaX’s features into the MY Mah Sing app further simplifies the process of using SofaX’s unique visualisation tool for Mah Sing homeowners.

“Our core goal has always been to make lives easier for homeowners through the use of cutting-edge technology. Our visualisation app does not intend to replace specialised interior design software, but rather serves as an alternate, simplified way for homeowners to explore their options before deciding which furniture or fittings they’d like to buy. We believe that human interaction, the experience of walking physically into furniture shops, as well as speaking to interior designers are still very much desired by homeowners. This phy-gital (physically at furniture shops plus digital visualisation) experience is making the best of both worlds possible, through our apps,” said Sean Lai, one of the founders of SofaX, which was launched in Nov 2020, about the partnership.

Through this collaboration, M Privilege members at two of Mah Sing’s latest development projects, M Vertica and Sensory @ Southville City, will receive 3,000 SofaX points, credited via the MY Mah Sing app. An additional 500 SofaX points will be given during the Vacant Possession event for use on the SofaX app. The points, which are equivalent in value to Ringgit Malaysia, will enable M Privilege members to each enjoy a RM3,500 rebate on all purchases at participating home and living vendors listed on the SofaX app.

M Privilege members at M Vertica and Sensory @ Southville City will also get exclusive access to SofaX’s Personal Shopper Programme. Their expert opinion will help buyers make a more informed decision and may prove especially helpful for first-time homeowners to gauge how they can make the most of their space and budget.

As a visualisation tool and VR-powered interior design platform, SofaX connects buyers to an extensive catalogue of furniture and home decoration merchants. Users will also have access to the portfolios of professional interior designers before selecting one to engage with, further adding value to the overall experience on the app.

SofaX claims to be the first of its kind home design mobile application that offers users the ability to visualise the combination of different furniture, fittings, and interior design ideas in their virtual house plans.
