Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia’s university for information and communication technology education, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the KRU Foundation to develop new talent in the field of digital entrepreneurship and creative content creation.

The MoU was signed by MMU president, Mazliham Mohd Su'ud and KRU Foundation chief executive officer Norman Abdul Halim, at MMU’s campus in Cyberjaya, recently.

The collaboration would enable both parties to implement joint projects and activities to enrich the skills of students and graduates in digital entrepreneurship using various up-skilling and re-skilling training programs.

According to Mazliham, the MoU will pave the way for more opportunities for MMU students to gain knowledge and skills in industrial training, as well as employment in the field of creative content and digital entrepreneurship.

"This opportunity will be made available to students from the Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, and the Faculty of Cinematic Arts," he added, with the collaboration also providing an opportunity for MMU staff, students, and alumni to get involved in digital-based businesses.

MMU has produced approximately 70,000 graduates since its establishment, 26 years ago.

The signing was also attended by KRU Foundation managing director, Noor Hafeez Noor Hashim and MMU Strategic Marketing, Admission, and Student Recruitment vice president, Zambri Pawanchik.

Last year MMU signed an MOU with local firm local technology firm ACO Tech Sdn Bhd. The result was four wallpapers, developed by MMU students, used by ACO Tech in its latest ATLAS OS, an operating system that’s being used by Proton in the X50 and 2022 versions of the Iriz, and Persona models.
