Nominations open for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2018 Malaysia awards

THE EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) Malaysia Awards programme is calling for nominations from Malaysia’s most exceptional and revolutionary entrepreneurs for its 2018 programme.

Currently in its 17th year, the EOY 2018 Malaysia programme seeks to recognise and celebrate the achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs across four categories: Emerging, Technology, Woman and Master.

An overall country winner will be chosen from among the four category winners, and the country winner will then go on to represent Malaysia at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (WEOY) in Monte Carlo next year.

Nominees will be assessed by a panel of independent judges guided by a set of globally benchmarked criteria that include entrepreneurial spirit, value creation, strategic direction, national and global impact, innovation, and personal integrity/purpose-driven leadership.

In line with this year’s theme, “Raising the bar. Transforming our future.”, the EOY programme seeks to recognize and celebrate extraordinary entrepreneurs who raise their game to turn today’s ideas into tomorrow’s reality; and who believe in positively impacting the future not just for themselves, but also everyone around them.

Philip Rao, partner, Ernst & Young Advisory Services Sdn Bhd and programme director of the EOY Malaysia programme shares, “This exceptional group of people see things beyond the horizon and challenge tradition to transform our future. Their boldness drives them to do things differently and to change our world in the most unexpected ways; ultimately, building a better working world.”

Rao continues, “Since the inception of the award programme in Malaysia in 2002, EOY Malaysia has been tremendously privileged to have had the opportunity to share the inspiring stories and journeys of some of Malaysia’s extraordinary entrepreneurs on an international stage.

“We deeply admire the vision, courage and determination of these select individuals who trailblaze new paths, inject new innovative thinking, create new markets and define new benchmarks for their respective industries, thereby setting the building blocks for a better and sustainable future.”

“We are confident there are many outstanding Malaysian entrepreneurs out there whose stories should be told and celebrated. Help us do this by nominating them for our EOY Malaysia awards this year.”

The EOY Awards programme is the first and only truly global awards programme of its kind. Besides enhancing the profile of entrepreneurs locally and internationally, the annual WEOY that is held in Monte Carlo provides a platform for some of the world’s best innovative thinkers, inspiring entrepreneurs, game changers and government leaders from more than 60 countries to meet, share and engage while building their global business network.

In June this year, Chiau Haw Choon, group managing director of Chin Hin Group Bhd and the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2017 Malaysia, will represent Malaysia at the world event in Monte Carlo.

“The EOY Malaysia programme is a first step towards WEOY. Therefore, we strongly urge our Malaysian entrepreneurs, regardless of their business industry or size, to participate in the EOY Malaysia programme,” concludes Rao.
