OneSecure acquired by EvvoLabs, rebranded into Evvo Cybersecurity

SINGAPORE-based cloud, mobile and media solutions provider Evvo Labs has acquired OneSecure Asia Pte Ltd, which specialises in Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) mitigation solutions.

OneSecure, also a local company, will be renamed Evvo Cybersecurity. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Evvo Labs’ infrastructure, cloud backup and data protection, disaster recovery, digital media, mobility management, business intelligence, IoT (Internet of Things) and systems integration, will complement OneSecure’s full suite of security solutions, the two parties said.

The expanded and complementary offerings come in light of an increasingly complex cybersecurity climate and the potential of cybersecurity threats jeopardising businesses, Evvo Cybersecurity said in a statement.

Adding to the challenge is the fact that 73% of organisations now include cybersecurity risk in their internal audits, while the recent Budget 2016 announcement by the Singapore Government highlighted the shortage of cybersecurity talent.

“We understand how our customers’ security needs are getting increasingly complex, and in response we have evolved by acquiring OneSecure,” said Evvo Labs founder and chief executive officer Ryan Wong.

“Through this acquisition, we will offer a more comprehensive range of solutions to help customers enhance their cybersecurity strategy.

“At the same time, we will integrate Evvo Cybersecurity’s solutions with Evvo Labs’ existing offerings,” he added.

Evvo Cybersecurity will work with customers to formulate a cybersecurity framework which will be implemented by its team of professionals using a wide range of products and tools, the company said.

“With extensive experience working with large companies, Evvo Cybersecurity understands the issues faced by local companies, from budget constraints to having to prioritise cybersecurity concerns and the need for inhouse talent,” said Evvo Cybersecurity managing director Edmund How.

“We are excited about the acquisition as it gives us the opportunity to develop affordable and encompassing cybersecurity solutions that meet the specific needs of organisations of all sizes,” he added.
