PARALLELS has announced the appointment of Jerry Huang (pic above) as vice president and general manager of the Asia Pacific region.
Based in Singapore, Huang will take over the reins of leadership from outgoing Parallels Asia Pacific vice president and general manager Eugenio Ferrante, the company said in a statement.
Ferrante, who led the company’s regional growth to new heights over the past few years, will be taking on a new role at Parallels, it added.
Huang will be responsible for building upon and growing the strong Asia Pacific demand for Parallels cross-platform software solutions.
This includes Parallels Desktop for Mac, which allows Windows applications to run on a Macintosh; and Parallels Remote Application Server, an integrated solution for virtual Windows application and desktop delivery to any device, anywhere.
“[The] Asia Pacific and Japan markets are among the world’s most dynamic, which can create challenges for IT departments in effectively scaling IT infrastructure,” said Huang.
“I look forward to leading the expansion of Parallels partner ecosystem in the region, including greater China, to provide customers with the best solutions and service they need today,” he added.
Prior to his current role, Huang served as the Asia Pacific devices sales lead at Microsoft, where he worked closely with country sales and technical teams to support corporate customers’ efforts in building enterprise mobility capability with Microsoft technology and devices.
Before that, he led the enterprise sales team for Apple in greater China, working closely with senior business and IT leaders in large corporations across the region to identify and surmount the challenges, opportunities and best practices involved in building enterprise mobility capabilities on iOS devices.
During his time at Apple, he also focused on helping customers integrate Mac devices into their business environment, empowering them to drive higher efficiency and productivity.
Huang has also served in various leadership roles at Nokia, HP, Compaq and Lotus. He graduated from Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan, with a degree in information computer engineering.
