PropertyGuru gets former jobsDB exec on board to helm Malaysian ops

• Sheldon Fernandez bring 13 years of online and sales experience
• Says his focus will be on customers and coaching the team

SINGAPORE-headquartered PropertyGuru Group has announced the appointment of Sheldon Fernandez (pic above) as the new country manager of PropertyGuru Malaysia.
 
He brings over 13 years of online and sales leadership experience to PropertyGuru, having served in general management roles in Adecco, Nextel Communications, Marcus Evans and most recently, jobsDB in Singapore and Malaysia, PropertyGuru said in a statement.
 
“Sheldon [Fernandez] has strong online product knowledge and a stellar track record for coaching, developing and increasing performance of teams under his leadership,” said cofounder and chief executive officer (CEO) Steve Melhuish.
 
“We are confident that he is the right person for the job, as our PropertyGuru values have always been about teamwork, respect, developing talent and delivering the best information for consumers seeking to make the right choice for property,” he added.
 
Fernandez will be reporting directly to the CEO, and will be responsible for all of Malaysia’s sales and partnership activities.
 
“I am excited to be joining such a strong team at PropertyGuru Malaysia … my prime focus will be with our customers and to coach the team to continue our journey of success,” he said.
