CONTACTLESS and cashless business solutions are seeing renewed interest and importance in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, where they ensure a degree of safety, especially for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The newly-launched Selangkah Biz is one such solution. The mobile application and digital solution is aimed at helping SMEs make a transition towards contactless and cashless business environments, Selangkah Ventures Sdn Bhd (SVSB) said in a statement.
With Selangkah Biz, the company said any registered businesses in Malaysia can accept cashless payments using their own devices, essentially transforming their phones into payment terminals with just a few taps.
Merchants only need to download the application and register to become a Selangkah Biz merchant, which will provide them access to the Unified Payment Platform to receive cashless payments through multiple e-wallets and easily manage their daily transactions, it said.
This also helps SMEs save cost, as businesses do not need to invest additional costs into device installation and rental, it claimed.
“Our local businesses have much to offer, and it is our aim to help them not only survive, but also thrive in every way that we can,” said Dr Helmi Zakariah, chief information officer of SVSB.
“Selangkah Biz is our solution to help SMEs digitalise safely, seamlessly and quickly to advance their businesses, which in return will contribute to the nation’s growth.
“We saw this urgent need to digitalise and worked with Kiple to help drive this and leveraged its expertise to lay the foundations for the app that will ultimately aid SMEs to transform digitally.”
At the moment, Selangkah Biz supports e-wallet and cashless payment options such as Touch n’ Go, Boost, Grab, Razer and kiple’s own e-wallet, kiplePay. Kiple has also made it possible for merchants to monitor their overall sales through transaction records, allowing for easy daily tracking, SVSB said.
Tan Kay Yen, chief executive officer of KiplePay said, “Digitalisation may seem like a challenge for businesses that have yet to experience the benefits of the transformation, so we want to show them that it does not have to be a difficult process if you have the right tools.
“We intend to make the process as seamless as possible so they can reap the benefits of these digital technologies in their daily lives.”
Selangkah will soon be rolling out the Selangkah Wallet and Selangkah Pay features within the app, which SVSB said will provide users a one-stop solution for new-normal digital needs.
Selangkah Biz is now available for free on the Google Play Store and soon on the Apple App Store. SMEs can find out more and register to become a merchant.
