Sime Darby selects Equinix to strengthen its data infrastructure

• Helps to face supply chain disruptions, volume of data
• Also adopted adopted Equinix’s Network Edge SD-WAN

Sime Darby Bhd has selected Platfom Equinix and leveraged its Network Edge technology to digitally transform its infrastructure across the region.

In a statement, the company said the solutions will help it face supply chain disruptions and the exploding volume of data from increased cloud adoption, and securely connect their distributed resources and pivot promptly when market conditions change, without compromising sustainability.

"We are hopeful that the collaboration with Equinix will help us seamlessly bridge the distance between our distributed digital infrastructure throughout the region and improve agility with accelerated deployment,” commented Goh Hai Peow, Sime Darby Berhad’s group chief information and digital officer. 

With the support from Equinix's technology partner Coevolve, Sime Darby said it has also adopted Equinix’s Network Edge on Equinix Fabric to achieve secure and stable software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) integration across markets.

This deployment allows Sime Darby Berhad to rapidly scale and adapt to external factors by deploying digital infrastructure as needed, eliminating prior systems that required shipment, truck-roll and capital expenditure, it said.
