PT SALAM Pacific Indonesia Lines (SPIL) and Deliveree have entered into a strategic partnership, combining SPIL, a container shipping company with Deliveree's next-gen logistics technology, jointly present in the mySPIL platform.
With technology playing an increasingly critical role in every aspect of freight shipping and forwarding, companies recognise that they need to accelerate the development of digital solutions to remain competitive .
The SPIL-Deliveree partnership combines skills in shipping line operations, freight forwarding, and ground transportation with booking, tracking, and optimisation technology to create an unparalleled experience for SPIL’s customers.
"Having a partnership with SPIL to deliver transformation to their customers and ground transporters is tremendous validation of technology’s role in increasing Indonesia's regional and global shipping competitiveness. We believe that what SPIL is doing is a new regional standard and sets the stage for more exciting things to come," said Deliveree chief executive officer Tom Kim.
"The SPIL-Deliveree partnership is a very powerful combination. SPIL has been a leading Indonesian shipping company for the last 50 years. Now our best-in-class shipping expertise is being bolstered by Deliveree's next-gen technology to substantially increase our ground transportation operations, shorten the lead and transit times, and increase the tracking transparency to our customers," said SPIL operation director Bambang Gunawan.
SPIL began to deploy joint technology with Deliveree into its ground operations on Oct 15, with the aim of full integration within the coming months.
