Telco and media expert David Goldstein joins iflix full-time

SOUTH-East Asian Internet TV service iflix said it has appointed telco and media expert David Goldstein (pic) as its head of Asia, moving from his previous role as special advisor.
He brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the media, pay TV, telecommunications and IT industries, having held senior executive positions with Emtek Group, SCTV, Nexmedia, Telstra, Swisscom, Digi, Schlumberger, Khazanah Nasional and others.
Goldstein also previously served as special advisor to the CEO of Axiata, one of Asia’s largest telecommunications companies.
“David’s extensive telecom and media experience will be critical to driving and sustaining our rapid growth and maintaining our leadership position,” said iflix Group cofounder and chief executive officer Mark Britt.
iflix said it has secured partnerships with leading telecommunications providers in each of its markets of operation including Telekom Malaysia, Digi, Celcom and Maxis in Malaysia; PLDT Smart in the Philippines; and TrueMove in Thailand.
The company also recently announced collaborations with Telkom and Indosat Ooreedoo ahead of its Indonesian launch.

In March, iflix welcomed Sky Plc and Emtek Group to its investor roster, joining Catcha Group, Evolution Media Capital, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).
“I have been privileged to work as special advisor to the incredible iflix team over the last five months,” said Goldstein.
“Having developed an indepth understanding of the phenomenal opportunities being offered to iflix, I am extremely excited to join the team full time and help it continue to build on its incredible success to date,” he added.
