Thailand’s Somphol Bedding opts for Epicor’s ERP

• Expected to play key role in Thai company’s 10yr Asian expansion plan
• Training began mid-July 2015, solution expected to go live by July 2016

AUSTIN, Texas-based Epicor Software Corp has announced Somphol Bedding and Mattress Industry Co Ltd (SPB) as its latest ERP 10 customer in Thailand. Financial terms were not disclosed.
 
In a statement, Epicor – which provides business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organisations – said that ERP 10 is expected to play a key role in SPB’s 10-year plan to expand its business in Asia.
 
SPB, currently with 220 employees, was founded 25 years ago as a trading company, and has since established itself as a manufacturer and distributor of premium beddings and mattresses for well-known hotels, resorts and large construction projects all over Thailand, as well as South-East Asia and South Asia, Epicor said.
 
SPB produces its original premium brand, Springmate, and was recently appointed as a sole sub-distributor of Parker&Morgan bedding products in Thailand.
 
Its vice managing director Nophol Techaphangam said his company has a clear business direction for the next decade and is confident the implementation of the Epicor’s ERP (enterprise resource planning) solutions will greatly assist SPB in its effort to expand regionally and beyond.
 
“For more than seven months, we looked into various software solutions together with our IT consultant to find the most suitable tool to assist us with our expansion plans.
 
“Finally, our board of directors and management team decided that the Epicor software solution ERP 10 is the most suitable solution that will greatly help and grow with us for the years to come,” Nophol said in the statement issued by Epicor.
 
Beginning mid-July 2015, Epicor will be conducting various training programmes for SPB staff. The solution is expected to go live by July 2016.
 
Once implemented, SPB is confident the software will assist the enterprise in making better informed decisions as well as reducing response times.
 
“In the coming months, Epicor will be closely working with SPB to create greater value for its customers as well as improving its business results,” said Epicor Asia Pacific Operations senior vice president Craig Charlton (pic).
 
“Our ERP 10 is specifically tailored to meet SPB’s business needs for both the present and the future,” he claimed.
 
Based on a 100% service-oriented architecture and Microsoft technology, ERP 10 is an end-to-end, industry-specific enterprise software solution for business that provides complete freedom of choice in deployment – on-premises, hosted or in the cloud as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, according to Epicor.
 
ERP 10 is already being used in 100 countries and helps companies meet various tax regimes in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore, the company claimed.
