By Digital News Asia December 28, 2016
- Achieved large enterprise customer wins and public sector penetration
- Got on equal footing with traditional players and fostered healthier competition in the market
TMAXSOFT, a multinational technology innovator focused on infrastructure software, recently announced some of its business milestones achieved in Asean in 2016, including strategic customer acquisitions in the large enterprise segment, public sector penetration, and access to future relational database technology tenders in Asean.
TmaxSoft is successfully expanding its enterprise customer base across multiple industries in the Asean region. Amongst the recent client acquisitions include a major telco player in Thailand, a leading credit reporting agency in Malaysia, and Singapore institutions.
TmaxSoft also penetrated the public sector by servicing government agencies with their relationship database management system (RDBMS). Furthermore, 2016 also marks TmaxSoft’s foray as an alternative technology vendor levelling the playing field in RDBMS and being recognised as a strong contender for tenders related to government projects in RDBMS that was dominated by oligopoly of a few legacy players.
“2016 was a milestone year for TmaxSoft with strategic customer acquisitions in the large enterprise segment as well as the public sector. These wins validate our value proposition in offering a robust scalable, resource efficient RDBMS solution that provides the data security, resiliency together with a transparent licensing model in a cost-efficient manner bridging the gap between legacy relational databases which is a biggest deciding factor for many enterprises to switch over,” said TmaxSoft Singapore managing director David Kim (pic, right).
According to a recent report by IDC, the database market globally is set to increase from US$40 billion in 2015 to US$50 billion by 2018.
As traditional enterprise business models are transforming towards digital business models and given the rapid expansion of information and data in the enterprise, CIOs are constantly searching for ways to be innovative keeping costs low.
TmaxSoft’s Tibero offer enterprise CIOs the viable alternative to support their global IT powerhouses and drive competitive advantage in comparison to the legacy vendors at half the cost and with a transparent licensing model.
ECS ICT Bhd CEO Soong Jan Hsung commented “TmaxSoft’s Tibero provides what we believe is the next best alternative to replacing Oracle, which can provide database solutions at a lower cost but with greater flexibility.
“Tibero can support majority of the Oracle database functions, which allows for database to leverage their existing knowledge-base with minimal transition time. Anyone operating Oracle in their environment should explore Tibero as a compatible, flexible, lower-cost option.”
ECS ICT is a distribution hub for Information & Communications Technology products in Malaysia and is an associate company of ECS Holdings Limited, which is an ICT distributor in Asia Pacific, accessing a network of more than 25,000 channel partners across China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Myammar.
TmaxSoft is working with ECS as its authorised distributor for its entire portfolio, including middleware (JEUS), database management solution (Tibero RDBMS) and application performance monitoring solution (SysMaster).
Tibero is a secure, fully compatible SQL RDBMS that scales easily and conforms to today’s cost optimized cloud architectures and is compatible with the legacy vendors’ database products.
It has been designed from its inception to facilitate efficient and flexible integration of data and business logic, as well as providing various database management utilities. It meets these needs perfectly by supporting the database infrastructure, the foundation for corporate businesses, providing both high performance and reliability.
Tibero enables economical use of system resources to provide excellent performance.
As more applications move to cloud computing and digital infrastructure, it becomes imperative for businesses to stretch boundaries and reach new levels.
TmaxSoft’s aim for 2017 will be to support businesses to take advantage of this fast moving trend and offer them viable alternatives for modernising their infrastructures to support the new demands of digital business and covert all legacy systems to cloud.
The presence of TmaxCloud in the market places pressure on vendors like Amazon and Google to provide better services for enterprises and customers alike who are looking for an integrated cloud platform.
“As the legacy vendors monopolized the industry in the past, the changing dynamics with customer’s preference for alternative players like us has created a more symbiotic and competitive ecosystem. We will continue to be at the forefront to provide our customers and partners with competitive solutions. With an expanded regional team in Asean we aim to capitalise on the evolving database industry in the coming year as public and private clouds represent an area of great growth and long-term promise for the industry,” concludes Kim.
With the strong take up rate of in 2016, TmaxSoft is growing the team in the Asean region and actively investing in both the people and business operations with new office openings to serve the needs of the Asean region starting 2017.
