TNG Digital has expanded its services to encompass cross-border remittances to over 50 countries through its Touch ‘n Go eWallet. Launched in May 2023 with services initially available in 10 countries, the expansion to more than 50 countries responds to the strong demand from users for additional international options, the company stated.
With GOremit, TNG Digital promises to provide a fast, secure, and convenient way to remit money overseas anytime, anywhere. Users can transfer funds not only to recipients' bank accounts or for cash pick-up but, more conveniently, to their preferred eWallet in the destination country.
In addition to competitive exchange rates and reduced fees, the service rewards users with points that can be redeemed for cashback vouchers, physical products, and entries into lucky draws for each transaction made on the platform via GOrewards.
Alan Ni (pic), CEO of TNG Digital said, “We are optimistic that this expansion will address the pain points associated with international fund transfers through an alternative, fully digital method, enabling our customers to send money with complete confidence and peace of mind.”
“This adds convenience to our users' lives. All transactions are conducted seamlessly and securely through the eWallet, and users can view their transaction history – all from a single platform,” he added.
According to TNG Digital, this expansion to over 50 countries includes Hong Kong, Japan, the United Kingdom, and various European countries. Initially, the service allowed money transfers to ten countries, encompassing five Southeast Asian countries (Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam), as well as other countries in the Asian region (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka).
“GOremit can be utilised for sending allowances to students studying overseas, assistingdomestic workers in supporting their family's living expenses back home, or facilitating international business transactions. This expansion caters to a diverse range of users with varying international money transfer needs, solidifying our position as the preferred eWallet for the daily needs of over 26 million users and a network of more than 2 million merchants,” Ni said.
Senders are required to complete the necessary verification process to use GOremit services. For more information about the Touch ‘n Go eWallet’s GOremit by TNG Digital, visit https://www.touchngo.com.my/tngdr/goremit/
