WebTVAsia in multiyear, 100-channel deal with Dailymotion

KUALA Lumpur-based multichannel network (MCN) and digital studio WebTVAsia said it has agreed on a multi-year partnership with global video platform Dailymotion to collaborate on a 100-channel rollout, as well as exclusive co-production for the Asian market.
WebTVAsia is part of Prodigee Media Group, which was established in 2005 as a music company before going into media entertainment.
Its YouTube MCN platform is averaging 150 million views monthly, from over three million subscribers, WebTVAsia said in a statement.

“We are extremely proud to be associated with WebTVAsia, the most prominent MCN and digital studio spanning the [Asia market], particularly China and South-East Asia,” said Marc Eychenne, vice president of content at Dailymotion.
Video-sharing site Dailymotion is one of the world’s biggest video platforms, offering a mix of content from users, independent creators and premium partners. It is available in 18 different languages, and has 35 localised versions featuring local homepages and local content.
Dailymotion attracts 300 million users who watch three billion videos on its player each month, WebTVAsia said, citing Sitecatalyst.
“Dailymotion is the leading video platform globally and WebTVAsia is privileged to work with our first of many European partners to penetrate the exciting Asian market,” said WebTVAsia group chief executive officer Fred Chong.
