MDeC joins What’s Next as ‘Supporting Presenter’
By Karamjit Singh September 10, 2015
- Focus on large companies’ response to digital disruption
- Mix of speakers, from corporate world and the disruptors
With its expanded role under Digital Malaysia to help promote the adoption and creation of digital technologies by Malaysians, What’s Next’s focus on how large companies need to be aware of changes within the market triggered by digital technologies has struck a chord.
The mix of speakers, both from the corporate world and the disruptors – startups or mature digital companies after the markets of brick and mortar companies – coupled with four seasoned corporate leaders playing the role of Provocateur will ensure that any bold claims of dominance or disruption of existing business models will not go unchallenged!
And did I mention that Tony Fernandes is the keynote? And no, he will not be talking about AirAsia. He has long moved past disrupting the airline industry in Asia. What trends and opportunities does he see because of how consumer behavior and expectations are changing?
At the same time, a recent piece of research commissioned by MDeC revealed the long climb ahead for corporate Malaysia to master the digital disruption that is upon all companies.
Less than 6% of businesses in Malaysia are digital disruptors, ie. organisations that have mastered the alignment of digital strategies with long-term business goals, according to a recent study by International Data Corporation (IDC) assessing organisations’ stage of maturity in digital transformation initiatives.
DNA believes What’s Next will throw up some key sharing and lessons that attendees can take away, apply or adapt within the challenges they face in their markets. But you have to be there!
