Alibaba Cloud to help enterprises accelerate digital transformation

  • Will share best practices accumulated in the past two decades
  • Has more than 70 security and compliance accreditations worldwide

ALIBABA Cloud, the data intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, on July 31 showcased its leading-edge solutions to Malaysian enterprises to accelerate their digital transformation at the first cloud summit held by the company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

At the summit, Alibaba Cloud also signed an MOU with Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd to use Big Data and AI to expedite financial inclusion.

Alibaba Cloud Intelligence International president Selina Yuan, said, “Since the establishment of our first local data centre in Malaysia, Alibaba Cloud has been paving the way to support local businesses to accelerate their digital transformation.

“As the No.1 cloud provider in Asia Pacific, we want to continue to promote inclusiveness through technology, so that customers can experience a world-class cloud system in terms of reliability, security, efficiency and interconnectivity.”

At the summit, Alibaba Cloud also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd, in their effort to enable better access to financial services using technology, and tackle challenges of security and compliance that typically found in banking industry.

Bank Muamalat Malaysia chief technology officer Abdul Razak Mohamed Ismail, said: “The collaboration presents a perfect opportunity for us to use predictive analytics powered by big data and AI technologies to better understand our customer segmentations and preferences.

“It will not only allow us to offer better products and services to our customers, but also help us offer tailor-made financial services that suit their growth aspirations.”

Alibaba Cloud has more than 70 security and compliance accreditations worldwide. The comprehensive set of compliance certifications allow the local financial customers as well as many other regulated industries to innovate in the cloud, and accelerate their way of digital transformation.

In addition to the cloud and AI-driven technologies, Alibaba Cloud will also share its best practices accumulated in the past two decades from Alibaba ecosystem. This will further empower Malaysia business partners to transform the way they market, sell, operate and succeed in the digital era.

Alibaba Cloud is the only global cloud provider with local data centres in Malaysia. It also launched its first cloud-based Anti-DDos Scrubbing Centre in Malaysia in 2018 serving the region.
