SUPERCHARGER FinTech Accelerator, with the supporting partnership from Fidelity International, concluded its programme for the third year running on its Hong Kong Demo Day held on June 8.
Through the three-month programme, SuperCharger’s 2018 Hong Kong cohort has achieved 47 commercial deals, fundraised US$14.4 million, received 17 awards, and currently have 204 deals in the pipeline.
Fidelity International has been a partner of SuperCharger since the accelerator’s founding in 2015. Under the partnership, fintech startup companies would have opportunities to obtain acute business insights from Fidelity International through workshops, proof-of-concept testing and ongoing feedback sessions.
The initiative also provides Fidelity International with the access to new technologies, ideas and a diversity of knowledge that would enrich the firm’s overall innovation agenda.
Fidelity International head of technology Asia Stuart Morley said: “Collaboration and partnership are at the centre of our innovation strategy. This has been the third consecutive year that we have supported the SuperCharger and we continue to value our interactions with the team and the start-ups. There are a number of exciting projects underway again this year, allowing us to explore new opportunities and solutions that will better support our clients.”
SuperCharger founder Janos Barberis (pic) said: “It has been an immense pleasure working with Fidelity International for the last three years. It has been an excellent partner both for SuperCharger and our startups. Collectively we achieved a lot and I look forward to continuing our work to keep building upon our previous success and support Fidelity’s innovation strategy.”
The 2018 Hong Kong cohort’s solutions were internationally recognised and validated by global fintech competitions. SuperCharger’s alumni excel globally, as evidenced by their ongoing successes in fundraising, proof-of-concepts and expansions.
SuperCharger is currently looking for applicants for its second Kuala Lumpur programme starting in August 2018. The application closes on June 28, 2018.
SuperCharger is a fintech accelerator based in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur which accepts applications from both early stage startups and established scale-ups.
