Leaderonomics to host Malaysia Leadership Summit 2019

LEADERONOMICS, a social enterprise dedicated to transforming nations through leadership development, continues its mission of growing people into leaders and building communities of love with the hosting of the Malaysia Leadership Summit in Shah Alam, Selangor on July 11, 2019.

Partnering with Together We Can Change the World (TWCCTW), this is the third year Leaderonomics is organising the Summit to build better leaders and help raise funds for non-government organisations (NGOs) and community initiatives. Leaderonomics, established in Malaysia in 2008, is today in its 11th year of operations.

TWCCTW is an organisation of speakers from across the world, who volunteer their time and presence to help support the disadvantaged and contribute to transformative community initiatives.

This year’s Summit, themed ‘Connect. Collaborate. Contribute.’ also sees the participation of two local organisations as sponsors -- Maybank, Malaysia's largest financial services group and the leading banking group in South East Asia, as the title sponsor and SP Setia Bhd, Malaysia’s leading property, infrastructure and business company, as the venue sponsor.

Some 500 aspiring leaders from across industries and organisations are expected to attend the Summit. Tickets are priced at RM580 per person, and all proceeds will be donated to community initiatives.

“Everything rises and falls on leadership. We believe that when people are developed as leaders, when leaders get better, everything gets better,” said Leaderonomics Group CEO Roshan Thiran.

“Leadership needs to be more than creating a successful organisation. It needs to be about being the positive change that the world needs. This is a key reason why all proceeds will be donated to community initiatives, particularly those that involve youth,” Roshan added.

“Strong leadership and agile mindsets are requisites to make the necessary changes in today’s digital transformation times. And this means a complete transformation of the bank from the top down.

“As leaders, we must do better in communicating, clarifying and engaging the workforce as we pursue changes that are necessary to be able to remain relevant in a digital environment,” said Maybank Group chief human capital officer Nora Abd Manaf.

“In order to realise the true value of digital transformation, timeframes cannot only be in the immediate or short term, efficiencies and cost-savings that are born from the technologies will be derived from the process of freeing up our internal talents so they can focus on high-value, high-impact work that helps organisations unlock new potentials for sustainable growth.

“This is an exciting time because it means a whole new dimension for employees to learn to truly collaborate and use comprehensive data to make decisions. It is going to be an evolutionary model of how we all work,” she added.

The day-long event will feature 10 global speakers who will share their insights on how leaders can better connect and collaborate with the people they work with and serve, and contribute to a better world, together.

They include Scott Friedman, a motivational humourist who will speak on ‘The Best Way to Predict the Future is to Create it’; Manoj Menon, a futurist and an authority on digital transformation who will cover ‘Transformative Leadership in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution; George Walther, an authority on communication, who will share on ‘Power Talking: Disrupt Your Dialog to Master the Language of Success’; Mark Bayoud, co-founder of Aden and a passionate refugee advocate who will speak on ‘A New Kind of Leader’; and Paul Larsen, an accomplished personal transformation coach and speaker, who will touch on ‘Find Your Voice and Make a Difference’.

Others are Rebecca Morgan, a leadership consultant and author, who will speak on ‘Work. Play. Give. -- Creating a More Connected, Collaborative and Contributing Team’; Carolyn Rose Hart, the founder of Step Up Step Out who will show participants how to ‘Be Unstoppable: How to Connect with Confidence As You Make a Difference in Your Organisation’; Raju Mandhayan, a business leadership and innovation consultant who will present ‘The Subtleties of Authentic Influence’; Kim Underhill, an industrial and organisational psychologist who will touch on ‘New Age Leadership’; and Jana Stanfield, a platinum album singer and songwriter who will share on ‘The Power of Contribution’.
