Microsoft, Ministry of Higher Education come together to empower students with world class technology

MICROSOFT Malaysia on Feb 27 celebrated the Windows 10 Education Activation Campaign, aimed at empowering students and educators in universities across the country to do great things.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), the campaign champions Windows 10 as a tool to transform education, in line with Shift 9 in the Malaysia Higher Education Blueprint 2015-2025.

The Blueprint aims to leverage on ICT to scale up quality learning across the nation and build on the cyber infrastructure that can support the use of technologies like video-conferencing, live streaming and Massive Open Online Courses.

Microsoft Malaysia Public Sector Group general manager Nik Ariff Nik Omar said, “In the last 25 years of our presence in Malaysia, Microsoft has been instrumental in driving the digitalisation of education, bringing world class technology and fostering better learning outcomes in classrooms. To hone students’ skills and equip them in this mobile-first, cloud-first world, it is necessary to have technology at the forefront and core of education.

“With the support of MoHE, we continue to provide for our students and teachers access to some the most secure, robust and flexible platforms to empower them with some of the best tools in the world.”

Joining forces with the MoHE, Microsoft has enabled students to access latest tools that enhance their studies and work through the Windows 10 Education Activation Campaign.

As part of the celebration, MoHE and Microsoft recognised the Universities that have supported this journey.

MoHE Department of Higher Education Director General Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah Tapsir reiterated the Malaysian government’s commitment to transform the education sector.

“The Ministry of Higher Education strives to integrate ICT to inspire and support learning in classrooms, while simultaneously addressing both students and educators’ need. We are actively encouraging the use of technology to enhance learning opportunities, streamline communication and encourage collaboration in classrooms.

“By partnering with Microsoft, we are able to push forward our vision of scaling up quality learning across Malaysia with the help of ICT.”

The Windows 10 Education Activation Campaign has been active in several parts of the country. Some of the universities that are driving this campaign include:
