MLBB World Championship 2019 comes to Malaysia this November

 

FOR the first time ever, the multi-player online battle arena mobile game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), will have its own world championship, titled MLBB World Championship 2019.

Better known as M1, the tournament will be the ultimate proving ground for all MLBB competitors from around the world to represent their nation and be crowned the world champion in MLBB.

The M1 main event will take place on Nov 15 – 17, 2019 at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the Group Stage taking place on Nov 11 – 14, 2019.

The world championship will feature the top 16 professional MLBB teams from 14 nations to battle it out for the lion’s share of the US$250,000 (RM1.05 million) total prize pool.

The 16 teams will consist of eight direct-invited teams and eight qualified teams: -

  1. Eight direct-invited teams via Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Myanmar
  2. Eight qualified teams via M1 Qualifiers in Brazil, Cambodia, Japan, Thailand and Laos, Russia, Turkey, Vietnam and the USA

Cherry Xia as vice president at Shanghai Moonton Technology said, “We are so excited to be hosting the very first World Championship tournament for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. It has always been our aim to elevate the game to greater heights and so the commemoration of MLBB World Championship 2019 (M1) is definitely a proud achievement for us.

The Malaysian Telco, U Mobile, has been very active in the local e-sports scene over the years and their involvement is exciting as e-sports marches towards becoming more mainstream. For the M1 Grand Finals on Nov 15 – 17, 2019, there are three types of ticket passes: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Tickets sales have begun with three-day passes and one-day passes available now.
