- Introduces vehicle inspection and protection programme to give buyers assurance
- Offer end-to-end facilitation service including ownership transfer, car inspection and financing
Malaysian marketplace, Mudah.my (Mudah) and MUV, have signed a deal that will create the largest selection of inspected and used cars with warranty in Malaysia.
In a statement, Mudah.my said it will introduce the Mudah Vehicle Inspection and Protection (mVIP) program, which is aimed at giving used car buyers the assurance and a peace of mind when purchasing their vehicles by removing any uncertainty and doubt with three assurances.
The first is by verifying the car registration and ownership details; the second is by verifying the true condition of the car via a comprehensive inspection process; and the third, is to offer the opportunity for buyers to purchase an extended warranty to protect against future repair costs.
Together, Mudah and MUV said they believe in using technology to make selling and buying used cars easy and transparent.
Mudah claimed to currently have over 7.5 million monthly unique visitors and over 60,000 cars for sale.
With the addition of MUV’s network of trained inspectors to generate online reports, Mudah's mVIP will be able to bring Malaysians the largest selection of used cars that have been inspected with warranty in Malaysia, the companies jointly said.
“Understanding the true condition of a used car has been the biggest problem for buyers and sellers.
“By introducing mVIP, we are creating a transparent, trusted car marketplace by providing an unbiased report on the true condition of the vehicle being bought,” said Gaurav Bhasin, chief executive officer (CEO) of Mudah
“For even greater peace of mind, we are also able to offer extended warranty on the inspected vehicles through the mVIP program,” he added.
Meanwhile, Andy Teh, CEO of MUV, said the company is excited to be working with Mudah and provide them with its expertise in used vehicle inspections via its nationwide network of inspection centres and hubs.
“If the seller is not able to come to our centres for inspection, we are able to send our team to their doorstep to make the process of buying and selling their used vehicles as convenient as possible,” said Teh.
MUV’s comprehensive 180-point inspection report of vehicles has been relied upon for over RM1.2bil (US$280mil) worth of vehicle transactions on MUV’s online bidding platform, Teh claimed.
The reports are widely accepted as the gold standard used by dealers throughout the country to help them trade used vehicles without being physically present to look at the vehicles beforehand, he added.
mVIP is the first of many programs that will be offered through this strategic alliance in between the two automotive industry marketplace veterans.
To help consumers sell a car by themselves in Malaysia, Mudah and MUV will also offer an end-to-end facilitation service that includes the ownership transfer (JPJ), car inspection (Pupakom) and financing arrangements for a small fixed fee, the companies said.
This eliminates the need for car owners to engage the services of middlemen when they are unfamiliar with the process, and especially if financing is required by their potential buyer - a major barrier for selling through the private market in Malaysia, they added.
