Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) is set to organise the Entrepreneurial Nation (E-Nation) Symposium, a 4-day entrepreneurship symposium to connect aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, ecosystem influencers and industry leaders with the access and exchange necessary to stimulate and facilitate the spirit of entrepreneurship through creativity, innovation and social impact in Malaysia.

These mentoring sessions will equip participants with the tools needed for their business to thrive in their entrepreneurial journey.
E-Nation will run from 30 Oct to 2 Nov 2019 at the MaGIC Campus in Cyberjaya and expects to gather over 1,500 participants. The official launch will be held on 30 Oct 2019 and will be officiated by Mohd Redzuan Yusof, Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Malaysia.
Under the theme ‘Shaping an Entrepreneurial Nation, MaGIC E-Nation aims to paint a canvas of future possibilities by fostering in-depth conversations around emerging technology, fresh entrepreneurial ideas, impact-conscious ventures, industry-specific future challenges and opportunities as well as the collaboration of entrepreneurs in finding new innovative approaches to solve real problems.
E-Nation will cut across 6 pillars: creative; corporate innovation; education; entrepreneurship; policy; and social entrepreneurship. The symposium will conclude with a career fair and startup exhibition where entrepreneurs can showcase their innovation-driven solutions while recruiting potential job-seeking candidates.
Explaining the rationale for the entrepreneurship symposium, Dzuleira Abu Bakar (pic), chief executive officer of MaGIC explains that the recent launch of the National Entrepreneurship Policy to transform Malaysia into an entrepreneurial nation by 2030 has resulted in an even larger mandate for MaGIC as a key driver to imbue a deeper entrepreneurial mindset into the Malaysian psyche.
Elaborating, she says, “An integral part of what we do is to nurture a generation of resilient entrepreneurs who are equipped with the knowledge of innovation as well as have a deep understanding of technological trends. A strong alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals is also a key outcome that we aspire to achieve. To do this, we need to do as much work in spreading the message of entrepreneurship and what better way to do that than to assemble like-minded individuals under a single roof for four days to be inspired to kickstart their own businesses and to ignite conversations to gain fresh perspectives around entrepreneurship.”
Dzuleira urges everyone to join the E-Nation symposium “for a thorough entrepreneurship immersion and to play a part in shaping an entrepreneurial Malaysia.”
E-Nation is in line with efforts by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development in transforming Malaysia into entrepreneurial nation by 2030. The E-Nation Symposium has a four-pronged objective:
-
To bridge ecosystem movers, shakers and builders together to facilitate idea exchange, promote collaboration and foster networking opportunities;
-
To highlight recent entrepreneurial initiatives;
-
To gather influential entrepreneurs and speakers to generate and communicate rich knowledge and information to attendees in areas of social innovation, entrepreneurship education, impact investment; and
-
To promote the concept of social innovation and social responsibility to encourage the adoption and understanding of the conscious entrepreneurship concept.
